Montgomery is one of the oldest towns in Texas, founded in 1837 and known as the birthplace of the Lone Star Flag. Today it sits on the west side of Lake Conroe, surrounded by golf communities, lake homes, wooded acreage, and newer master-planned neighborhoods. Most homes with Montgomery addresses sit outside the small city limits, so tax rates, MUD fees, HOA rules, and flood zones near the lake vary from one property to the next. I run those numbers before you write an offer.
